Nevin came to the Bruins first as a member of the prorgams 1985 Junior Bruins AAA team. He then went on to play for thier Little Bruins and Juinor Bruins (EJHL) team.

Nevin graduated From Marian High School in Framingham, MA in 2003. In just his sophomore year there he was named the Catholic Central league MVP and Best Defensive Player as well as being selected to the Metro-West and Boston Globe All scholastic teams.

Following that year Nevin made the jump to the Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. He played there from 2001 to 2005. In his five seasons he was named the top goalie three years in a row and was the playoff MVP during their championship run in 2005.

Hamilton earned a scholarship to play at University of Massachusetts- Lowell in Hockey East. During his junior year he helped backstop the team to a berth in the Hockey East Championship game.  Nevin graduated in the spring of 2010 and left the school tied for the best save percentage in schools history.

Post college he spent time with the Providence Bruins (AHL), Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), and the Louisiana Ice Gators (SPHL).

He has trained with Ed Walsh since college and has held a head coaching position for the Ed Walsh Hockey Schools for the past three years. Last year Nevin teamed up with Ed Walsh and created the International Goaltending Competition which made stops in four cities during its initial year.

The 2012-2013 season is his first year coaching with the Junior Bruins.
