Thru the first 13 regular season games the Junior Bruins NCDC team has amassed a record of 11-1-0-1 good for 23 points and first place overall in the league. Attributing to the Bruins success has been a healthy mix of productive returners and youthful newcomers that have all made big impacts. Sasha Peresunko, Robby Griffin, Matt Allen and Jonny Mulera are all returners who find themselves in the top 5 in scoring. Verteran D man Luke Rowe 13-4-10-14 is averaging a point per game on the backend as the B’s offense leads the NCDC in goals per game.
Returning goaltender Yaniv Perets has been rock solid thru 12 games. His record stands at 10-1 with a 1.88 .946GAA. Before the Jersey Hitmen scored on Sunday to make it 2-1 Bruins Perets had gone 161 minutes without surrendering a goal.
The B’s have gotten terrific secondary scoring from Timmy Kent, Ryan Lovett, Frankie Ireland, Riley Prattson, Cade DeStefani and Nik Allain. DeStefani and Ireland, both ‘01’s, are two of the younger players in the league and have stepped right in and made immediate impacts.
Returning defenseman Sean Keohan has given the blueline great depth and stability and newcomer Michael Brown has rounded out a very formidable blue line unit for the B’s. The group is led by captain Cam Boudreau whose tremendous skating and puck moving abilities make it difficult for opponents to spend any sustained time in the B’s end.
This week the Bruins suit up for the annual Fall Beantown Classic. Matchups with the South Shore Kings and PAL Islanders are on tap before a big Sunday rematch with the Jersey Hitmen takes place.
