HARRIS TO JOIN ENGINEERS

B’s captain Chooses RPI

MARLBORO, MA – Junior Bruins defenseman Matt Harris has committed to RPI for the fall of 2017. In 41 regular season games this year Matt has compiled a 3-24-27, +28 line. Harris, a Sudbury MA native, has been a long-time Bruin and has seen his game improve in each season with the black and gold. Harris first came to the Junior Bruins with the ’96 AAA team playing alongside teammates such as Jack Eichel, Conor Garland, William Nylander, Sonny Milano and Brandon Fortunato to name a few.

He came on board full time with the 18U team before making the jump to the Premier team.

“I’m very happy for Matt and his family. He clearly made a commitment to his game between the end of last season and  beginning of this year and he has been very consistent for our group since the get go. We ask our defenseman to do a lot of different things in our system and in that regard Matt is extremely prepared for this level of college hockey. I think he’s going to do great things at RPI and we’re really excited about watching him continue to develop there over the next four years”, head coach Mike Anderson.

Harris has anchored a D corp that tied for fewest goals allowed in the league. His 27 points ranks him among the league leaders at his position. Congratulations to Matt Harris and his family on their commitment to NCAA Division I ice hockey at RPI. Go Bruins.
