MARLBORO, MA- Premier forward Alex Brink has committed to Brown University for the fall of 2015. In this his third season with the B’s, Alex is flourishing offensively. In 39 games he has a 21-31-52, +31 line good for fifth in the USPHL. Brink is a captain this year and he has been a tremendous contributor to the B’s success on the ice and in the locker room. “He has the unique ability to alter the course of a game either with his physical play or making a play on offense. He has been a force for us this season”, adds coach Mike Anderson.
Brink’s Bruins team enters the winter break at 29-7-0-3 and 23-5-0-3 in USPHL league play. That mark has them tied with Philadelphia for 2nd overall and 2 games behind the rival NJ Hitmen for the leagues top spot.
Brink, a native of Hamilton, NY said that the ECAC was always a place he had targeted as a landing spot. Playing in one of the countries top collegiate leagues and getting a world class education at an Ivy League school is tough to top. In addition to his terrific leadership skills he is an excellent student and figures to step in next fall and contribute right away to a Brown team that will graduate 4 forwards and 3 of their top 4 scorers up front.
Alex is excited for what lies ahead:
"I'm very excited for the opportunity to continue my hockey career and education at Brown. The coaching staff at the Junior Bruins has always been very supportive and consistently give us chances to be creative and prove ourselves. This experience has been incredible because we’ve always had high level teams including being USPHL Playoff champs and winning a National Championship last season."
Congratulations to Alex and his family on his commitment to Brown.
