Andy Martone joined the Junior Bruins staff in 2011.
Born and raised in Framingham, MA and played his hockey for the Framingham Jets and Assabet Valley All Stars before high school.  He played at St. Sebastian’s and Marian High School graduating in 1981 followed by a PG year at New Hampton and then moved on to Salem State College now known as Salem State University.
While at Salem, he was a four-year performer on defense and in 1986 was selected as a Titan Hockey All-American, first team All-New England and first team All-MASCAC. He recorded 101 career points at SSC, making him one of just four SSC defensemen to have scored over 100 career points. He scored 41 goals and registered 60 assists during his career at SSC. Andy was a member of three MASCAC championship teams and a member of the SSC 1985 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) tournament championship team.  He was inducted into the Salem State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.
After he received his bachelor’s degree in English from Salem State, Andy was invited to the Hartford Whalers training camp in September 1986. With brief stops in Binghamton, NY of the AHL and Muskegon, MI of the IHL he finished the 86-87 season with the Mohawk Valley Comets out of Utica, NY in the now disbanded ACHL.  There he earned a second team all star nod.  For the 87-88 season Andy played in Sweden for the Kristianstad Ice Hockey Club in the first division.
Andy and his wife Carolyn have 2 sons, Paul and Jack and they reside in Hopkinton.
